The design brief was to develop a layout for BMC Employees housing society. The site had a river flowing on one side and the other side faced the mountain ranges creating a scenic view. Since, the users resided in chawls,cantilevered projections were incorporated in design at regular levels in step format to retain the essence of social gatherings in chawl. The idea was to develop a design that would strengthen a community’s identity and how residential spaces are conducive for activities beyond just living by creating several opportunities to develop new cultural ties among its residents
